"Aboot the toun ther are the fairest and largest links of any pairt of Scotland"

Royal Dornoch Golf Club is spellbinding and many golfers from all over the world make the pilgrimage to this natural links at some point in their lives. Formed in 1877, Dornoch has now been a Royal club for over 100 years! A royal title means exceptional standards.

You may be aware that the 2024 season will bring building works for their new clubhouse. They no longer have the use of the main lower car park, which will have a knock on effect for parking and drop offs. Please see below email we received.

It is exciting times for Royal Dornoch as the construction of our new clubhouse is underway. We expect this to be completed by Summer of 2025, with it being available to all in the winter of that year.

In the meantime, there will be some disruption, although we expect that to be kept to a minimum especially where playing golf is concerned.

The major change is that our current car park is part of the construction site, so we are not able to use it.

The temporary car park will be on our practice strip next to the 18th hole of the Championship Course. Accessing this would increase traffic flow in front of the 1st tee and behind the 18th green so we have closed this part of Golf Road.

To access the temporary car park, you will need to go along Church Street, River Street, Beach Road, turning left at the junction and heading back up the hill. This will be fully signposted.

Please note that the temporary car park is not suitable for coaches and there is a coach park available in the town at Dornoch South. Please note that the money raised from the parking charges are kept wholly within the town and used to improve the area for the residents and visitors. Coach drivers who bring proof that they have paid for and parked in the coach park will receive a voucher to the tickets value (currently £5) which can be used for food and beverage in the clubhouse.

Drop off in the small area next to the clubhouse/1st tee is possible after which you must move away to the car park or coach park.

All of the above are shown on the map where we have added the what3words locations for the drop off, temporary car park and the coach park.
