Tacho Cards
If for whatever reason, your card is faulty, or you lose it, you MUST apply for a replacement immediately from the DVLA. They are required to send you a replacement card within 5 working days of receiving your application.
Although our tracking system keeps track of your tachograph, please get into the habit of uploading it weekly on the reader in the drivers room.
With a lost tachograph card, you CAN still continue to operate a digital tachograph vehicle as long as you stick to the following rules:
- At the start and end of your driving jobs, you should print out a record of the tachograph from the vehicle, writing your name and driving licence number on the back of each printout and sign it for confirmation.
- Keep these printouts available in case of inspection on request by the authorities for the next 28 calendar days
- After these 28 calendar days, you should give these printouts to the office who will store them in your records for atleast the next 12 months.
- Any driving infringements must be reported to the office
- You MAY NOT under normal circumstances, continue to drive for more than 15 calendar days without using a valid driver card.
- If you need to report a missing, stolen or faulty card, you can request a form from the office.
